Description

Twas brillig and the slithy toves, Did gyre and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe

Six months after Alice first visited Wonderland, she finds herself returning to the nonsensical world by means of a looking glass in her living room. Somehow, Alice gets tangled up in a life sized, none-too-friendly game of chess. Alice must once again journey across Wonderland in the hopes of becoming a queen. Along the way, she meets new characters such as Humpty Dumpty, the Red Queen and the White Knight as well as old friends like the Mad Hatter and the March Hare. It's a race against the Baron of Time as Alice must avoid the destructive Jabberwock to reach the Eigth Square and recieve her crown if she ever wants to get back home again.

By my previous upload, (for those who follow me at least), you might have guessed that my Wonderland Project is indeed my own version of Through the Looking Glass. While I'm well aware that Walt Disney himself was never fond of doing in sequels, in this case, the option WAS there, and with the amount of material from both books that was deleted in the process of making "Wonderland", they could have easily made a sequel were it within anyone's interest.
So, what with Burton and Bobbin having their go at the sequel, I've decided to take a shot at it myself. After doing a heavy amount of research, a LOT of digging and a heck of a lot of string pulling, I'm doing my best to composit a version of Through the Looking Glass that might create a "what-if" scenario. (I've been doing a lot of those lately, huh?)
Now I know I've already got 5 other stories to write (both of requests and my own projects) but this one is a little different. You see not only am I hoping to make a new story, I'm also hoping to make a storyboard reel as well complete with voices, songs and music as well. But it all depends on a few things that I hope will fall into place. But I'm getting a bit ahead of myself.
I realize the challenge of making something that can follow up to the original, and I'm well aware of how insignificant my attempt may be compared to the whole world's. But the original Alice in Wonderland is very dear to me and I've always wanted to see its sequel. I'm not the best animator so I can't really do everything myself. Yet if there's one thing I can say is that I'm tired of waiting for someone else to do it, and if they already have, then I'd like to at least try.
As for this piece, I tried to make it similar to one of the home media release covers. (Kudos if you know which particular edition it is!) All the while keeping to something simple, yet inviting with a few characters here and there and a modest background. (For any of you wondering you that little fellow is in the collonial garb, you can learn more about him HERE.
There's no telling when I'll get to this, but I AM hoping to put things further into action.
For now though, I'll just leave this here.

I hope you like it. :)

Too bad the Disney Company didn't make a sequel to Disney's Alice in Wonderland (1951).
